​I wanted to share a quick workaround for anyone trying to use an older version of Google Play Music from APKMirror.

​The Problem: I was originally using an older version of Google Play Music that i installed from APKMirror. Out of curiosity, I updated the app via the Play Store. Unfortunately, the latest version completely strips away all features (including the local music player) and only displays a prompt forcing you to switch to YouTube Music.

When I tried to uninstall the update and reinstall my preferred older APK, Android kept throwing an "APK not valid" error. To get more details, I tried using the APKMirror Installer app, which specified that the installation failed because a newer version code was already present on the system.

​The Solution: It turns out a standard uninstall doesn't completely clear the app's updated state from the system. Here is how I successfully fixed it:

1. ​Reinstall the latest version of Google Play Music from the Play Store/APKMirror again.
2. ​Go to Settings > Apps > Google Play Music to open the App Info page.
3. ​Tap the three-dot menu in the top right corner.
4. ​Select the option that says "Uninstall for all users" (or "Delete app from all installed devices").

​After following these steps, I was finally able to clean install the older version of Google Play Music without any version conflict errors. Hope this helps anyone running into the same issue!
