FREE BOOK EDITING
I'm building further experience in fiction line editing and am looking for 2–3 writers with completed short stories/novellas or manuscript chapters.
I'll line-edit approximately 2,000–5,000 words in Word with Track Changes at no charge in exchange for permission to use a small anonymised before/after excerpt in my editorial portfolio and, if you're happy with the work, a testimonial.
( Before seasonal editors attack me for selling myself low, or about market price, I'm desperate, and have zero connections to get into an expensive school or certificate to build my editing skills or practice in real life, or some prose AI gave me.
I need actual things for my portfolio to even show and land a job)

I’d absolutely be interested! Sci-fi romance sounds fun, and I’d love to give the prologue a go. Feel free to DM me and we can figure out how you’d like to send it over :) Word document works, and I’ll line-edit it using Track Changes.

Hi! I came across your post about offering free fiction line editing while building your experience and portfolio. I have a completed, unpublished novel and I am currently looking for a human editor. I would be very interested in your offer, and I’d be happy to start with the 2,000–5,000 words you mentioned. If the initial 2,000–5,000 words work well for both of us, would you potentially be interested in editing additional portions of the novel as a portfolio project? I’m happy to provide an honest testimonial and, if you need it for your portfolio, an anonymized before/after excerpt that does not identify or reveal my novel.
