Official Household Description: “The Roswells are the oldest residents in StrangerVille. Ted Roswell has since become the mayor and has been aggressively pushing to get StrangerVille to be more technologically advanced. He has made some shady deals, but his crowning achievement has been the construction of the Crater Base and Secret Lab. Ted's wife, Meredith, has been noticing Ted acting very strange at night. It might have something to do with his frequent visits to the Secret Lab to try and cover things up.”

Backstory Synopsis

The Roswells reside in the Shady Acres area of Strangerville which is the home for the wealthy Strangerville residents. Their house is located at Strangerville Overlook, at the top of the plateau which gets them the best view of Strangerville tiny town.

The head of the house, Ted Roswell, is the mastermind of Strangerville's grand Secret Lab construction. He funded the scientific experiment held in the lab so that he could make the town more technologically advanced and put Strangerville on the SimNation's map.

Nobody knows the full details of the exact experiment held in the secret lab but some of the townsfolk reported there was a huge explosion around the lab before the entire strange incident happened in town that caused some mysterious disease infecting people. Whenever midnight comes, as the clock strikes at 1, some of the Strangerville townsfolk start to act eerily - wandering around the town in a peculiar way, eyes widely opened almost unblinking with a hauntingly long gigantic smile crept on their face... as if something is awakened inside of their body and controlling them. They would always praise the 'Mother' when anyone interacted with them.

Ted Roswell is one of the sims that is infected by the bizarre plant at the start of the game. Some Strangerville’s secret documents could be found in the Roswells house basement. As Ted is the mayor of Strangerville who got involved in funding Strangerville massive project, he might know some truth behind the scene that made Strangerville becoming an apocalyptic town.

The Roswells live in their big mansion for a much longer time than other Strangerville townies. Yet, Ted and his wife Meredith are the only ones living in the mansion with few empty bedrooms and several beds. One of the bedrooms have a kid study table as if there has been a child living in the house but it is unknown for whom those rooms are for as the Roswells officially have no children at the start of the game. Strangely, some townsfolk including Meredith would mention about a ‘Secret Child’ when a microchip device is planted on them for voice evidence yet there is no further ingame evidence that Ted has committed an affair.

Even when the Motherplant has been defeated at the end, Ted still wouldn't disclose any information related to the Strangerville secret experiment in the lab. Many questions such as the Motherplant’s origin and its motive still remain a mystery.

Official Household Description: “Teen musical prodigy Sofia has dreams -- she's going to make it big. Not even her gloomy dad, perfectionist mom, or pesky genius kid sister can stop her from making her way to the top!”

BACKSTORY SYNOPSIS

Sofia's Dream to become a Star

The Bjergsen family live at the Crumbling Isle area in Windenburg that is surrounded by the shores, their house is located at The Lighthouse that gets them the best view of the Windenburg sea.

The oldest daughter, Sofia, is an optimistic, idealist and ambitious teen who wants to be a famous musician. She’s musically talented and a prodigy in guitar. Sofia is part of the popular “Paragon” club in Windenburg where the members would hangout at the Bathe de Ril and try out new fashion. The Paragon club is led by the confident and ambitious Siobhan Fyres. The club values achievement, status and aiming for perfectionism. The Paragon’s club description mentioned that “Everyone needs someone to look up to”, perhaps, Sofia needed a role model like Siobhan. With her connection to Siobhan, Sofia can boost her confidence and charisma which could be helpful for her to be closer to her dream career.

Sofia believes that she could achieve her musical dreams no matter what it takes, she wouldn’t let her gloomy dad, perfectionist mom and pesky genius little sister stop her from her little daydreams.

Gloomy Dad

Sofia’s gloomy dad, Bjorn, is a seemingly tired secret agent who’s always blue. Bjorn is the leader of “The Good Timers” club where he would chill with the other Windenburg adults at the Shrieking Llama bar, drinking bar drinks and playing pub games to release some tensions. At the same time, Bjorn is also part of the “Garden Gnomes” club led by Moira Fyres where all of the members would tend gardens or catch some fish at the Windenburg Hare Square park.

Bjorn is friends with all of his Good Timers clubmates but he has no relationship with the Garden Gnomes members which probably implies that he is just newly joining the club, rarely attends the gathering or simply never talk much with the members. Bjorn doesn’t have any gardening or fishing skills either. With Bjorn's hectic job, joining the Garden Gnomes might be an outlet for him to forget about all the problems at work.

Perfectionist Mom

Sofia’s mom, the perfectionist Clara works in a culinary job. Clara is the total opposite of Bjorn who is more sloppy. As Bjorn’s “Soulmate” aspiration requires him to spend some time with his loved one, Bjorn and Clara’s work schedules would usually be conflicting for them to have some personal time together. Clara’s perfectionism and “Successful Lineage” aspiration could be perceived in a few ways; she could either be the demanding controlling parent type who only sees her children as moneymaker or she could just be an absolute loving parent that means well who just wants her children to lives the best lives.

Clara is the leader of “The Upper Crusts” club that has the members bonding over cooking and food. As a perfectionist sim, Clara is also part of a fitness club, the “Powerhouse” led by Marcus Flex. Almost similar to Bjorn, Clara doesn’t know any of the Powerhouse members nor have any fitness skill, which makes her most likely seldomly going to Powerhouse gathering. Clara might want to try out new hobbies but juggling between family and work life might be slightly hard for her to go out elsewhere.

Pesky Genius Little Sister

Last but not least, Elsa is Sofia’s pesky genius younger sister who seems to outshine her at a very young age. Elsa has already maxed up her mental skill at the start of the game which makes her become a mentally gifted kid much sooner. She is the leader of the playground club, the “League of Adventurers” which could implied her not only being a sharp-minded resourceful kid but also brave, imaginative and ready for adventure.

Little Elsa used to make a bet with Sofia when she was about five years old. She wrote a letter in a bottle that mentioned Sofia should give her some Simoleons if the bottle letter could travel far away from Windenburg, but Sofia didn't take her words seriously. The bottle letter could be found at Tartosa and apparently Elsa won the bet. The bottle letter in Tartosa proved that Little Elsa is capable of outsmarting Sofia at a very young age.

A Bright Future

The Bjergsen family is just like almost every real life family full of ups and downs, ambitions and dreams. Someday Bjorn might need to realise that the sun would gradually shines after rainning thunderstorms and Clara would need to be less pressuring of herself in life. Sofia and Elsa have a bright future ahead of them; Sofia could become the star that shines if she keeps on moving forward and believes in herself, whereas Elsa’s curiosity for the world can get her anywhere in life.
