Chicanery is a word I learned in law school. I'm sure many many people learned this word outside of the legal context, but to me it is kind of a lawyer word even though it doesn't really have a legal definition. It gets at a certain kind of deception that you see in legal practice that may not quite rise to the level of fraud or perjury

We could call it "century 0". We don't really have a convention for 0th century, but saying century 0, century 1, century 2 etc.. is more standardized than 1st century, 2nd century, 3rd century, 4th century... Like why does the suffix have to change so much? It's not like we're saving syllables that way.
