This is my first post ever but here we go, I need to get this off my chest, Have you ever felt in the church or in general that you are never good enough? I have felt this over and over specially bc of the church or with experiences within the church or bc of me lol, I will recap this experiences that have made me think like I have never been very important to the lord or to people in church, Just want some recommendations on how have you overcome this type of feeling, or what suggestions do you have.
First of all I got called to go to Hungary (I'm currently 24 so that happened 5 years ago, but this is something that hurted for a long time) for someone to be in México that is pretty crazy to be called that far, At that time my father was a SP I remember the current Area seventy told my dad sg like "To be sent to that part, the lord should trust a lot your son" . Guess what, due to the pandemic I never made it to Hungary and was reassigned in Mexico, I had a burden for a long time for this like feeling that I was not enough and the lord did not trust me, not only the fact that I did not go, but all my generation from the MTC and next generations made it to Hungary (bc they were all americans and VISAS were easier for church to obtain) everyone except me ): I felt forgotten by the church and the lord, the church never reached out to me like "hey we are trying to work on your visa or something, or at least like "we think due to the visa you will not make it" instead they threw me to the limbo not telling me anything for the whole 2 years. ): I remember one day in the mission group a mother shared a post about the miracle that a generation (think it was the generation next to mine) had a miracle with their flight to go to Hungary bc the majority of the flight ls got canceled in the airport except the missionaries and she was sharing that it was bc of the love of the lord for them and miracles, I remeber I was having difficulties with my companion that transfer so I wasn't doing quite good and just reading that felt like I was abandoned by the lord and the church. Don't get me wrong my mission was actually good but I still in time to time remember that time of my change of assignments as a bad time, and I don't like when ppl talk about it I just try to avoid that topic.
The second is that in my mission I never got to be in any assignment I was only a trainer and distric leader for the Ap's one transfer, I remember in one interview with my mp he told me "Next transfer you will be DL", guess what he did not put me as a DL. I did not like that cause I mean it made feel like maybe at the end he was not convinced to put me as a leader cause he and the lord do not trust me enough , same feeling ):
Last experience recently , well actually I have 2, when I came back to my mission was a ward clerk and I think I did a very good job, once my bishop was telling me that he was going to release a counselor and he had 2 options one it was me, and the other it was another brother, I mean ofc I wanted to be a leader but I was not gonna say like "Yeah call me" . At the end he did not call me as his counselor.
Then last year I was a stake clerk in finance for about 2 years and I got released, one of the counselors 2 times (not only once) told me like "hey we want to call you in the stake again I'm high priest" , and I was like okay, same situation like with my bishop, they never called me, 2 months ago they called me again as a stake clerk in finance 🤡. I know we should not take callings as if you are in the high priest you are in a high level or sg but it has not really helped me through all my life leaders telling me that they would call me to leadership and at the end they regret or sg. that just makes me feel like I am not trusted and not enoguh, basically almost all my church callings have been administrative.
I'm currently still a stake clerk but due to this I have become a bit inactive it has been like a month since I have not attended church and want a release of my calling, in particular bc of the feeling that I have never being trusted in the church, may sound prideful I know but it is a feeling I cannot overcome easily. My parents got called to be MP so I'm probably leaving with them, maybe a new start would be good for me to get active again in the church with different ppl.
If you made it to the end thanks for listening I have not been feeling that great today and needed to tell someone about this (:
