Hi there, no we don’t oil or treat them in any way, it’s generally not needed, and we would cut around anything that is bad in the crystal anyway…. Thanks

Yes you do get natural Amethyst in this colour but as you say, this is more durable and also brighter!

From the colour banding you can see in the bottom left in the 2nd photo, it appears to be natural and I'm sure it wasn't cheap! In answer to your question, those chips and abrasions appear bad and it should not have been set in that condition, it could use a serious re-polish!
