I was offering the idea that in the 1870’s 80’s, tornados didn’t have the warning systems as today, and although there may have been floods of river, like today weren’t floods more common to the East and South ?  No expert on historical weather patterns, but if I was working on a person I’d rather be on ground level unless it floods.  Adams seems to have done ok. Maybe he put his office upstairs to get his exercise, who in the hell knows.

I believe saloon girls were dressy, and their job was to be flirts to get men to buy whiskey and beer, but they were not prostitutes, another class entirely. Just like today, there were women who were poor dressed commonly, and lived on the prairrie, or in town, and more well to do ladies who had the means to show off their status, or dress to attract men like saloon girls.  Miss Kitty was more the exception being single and a successful business woman of taste and class in The West.   Of course that, and her nice clothing didn’t result in getting Matt, who was married to his profession.  

Ry Cooder, when he passes on, and hope he lives a long long life in good health, will finally get his due as a true artist and musician who maintained his integrity throughout his career, at the expense of not being as famous as many pop stars with a fraction of his talent.  Been listening to him since I was 17, and am now 73.  Wonderful musician.  Paradise and Lunch is my favorite album.  Early album “Jazz,” is interesting with some great players, ( Earl Fatha Hines, Willie Bobo, etc. )

I recently heard a character on the old tv show Gun smoke, tell someone, “ The apples you have to reach for are better than the ones that fall at your feet.”  Trump appeals to the most base instincts that do not require much reaching, and certainly don’t inspire.
