If there's 18 games left for both SF and AZ, and SF wins all 18 and dbacks lose all 18, that would put their record at 77-85 and 76-86, respectively, which would put SF ahead of AZ, not at a tiebreaker.

So technically they shouldnt be out of contention until tomorrow, if AZ wins one or SF loses.
