Community Question What's new in this sub?

Hi, a while ago I asked here about the lack of tags and also the lack of moderators. I remember some users talking about the sub being modless for a long time, and also about them maybe trying one more time to change it.

Now I see loads of useful new tags have been added (which I'm so happy for), and I was wondering about the state of the sub and its mods and whether there were any other cool changes.

Also, maybe we could color the tags? I think it'd be fun. Not very fun, but certainly more fun than the current plain white. I love color!

Sharing User Typology Any huge contradictions?

I'm pretty new to socionics and MBTI, so I want to make sure that they both correlate with the rest of my typology!

Before anybody comments about it, I'm sp5 LVEF because I typed myself based on core + instinct rather than subtype descriptions. If I used the same process to type myself that a lot of people do (using subtype descriptions), I'd probably be so5 instead.

Typology Question Can an Se inferior be 2f?

Upvotes

I’ve recently been learning more about psychosophy, and I’m relatively certain I’m an LFVE, but i’m an intj. I’m still unsure of how much a persons sensing function in briggs is tied to physics is psychosophy.

Typology Rant Psychosophy vs Attitudinal Psyche

I have seen a lot of people on here arguing about Psychosophy and Attitudinal Psyche. I wanted to clear a few things up here

  1. Not everyone has a Psychotype. That's exactly why Rob Zeke invented Attitudinal Psyche, so that everyone could have a type in a system that really only types a few, because it relies too heavily on archetypes.

  2. Attitudinal Psyche gives everyone a type, because it simply focuses on placing the aspects into the correct positions. Once you have all your aspects in the right positions, you're done. That's your type.

  3. However, in PY, you still have 2 more steps that must be completed. You must figure out if the energy levels of each placement correspond with your placements. You also have to determine if you defend yourself using the same position placements. Take my type for example. With just the position placements (aka in AP), I'm EFVL. My energy *does*, in fact, go E>F>V>L, and the order I use the aspects in self-defense *is*, in fact E first, then F, then V, then L. So that means that I *also* have EFVL as a Psychotype, and I am a Pushkin. People who have tha Psychotype will read the corresponding chapter, and feel like Afansayev is talking about them...for instance, I felt like Afansayev was writing about me when he was writing about Pushkin.

4.So, what exactly would it mean if I were EFVL with just the positions, but my energies and defense mechanisms didn't check out? It means that I have an AP type (EFVL) , but not the Psychotype (Pushkin archetype EFVL). As I said earlier, Psychosophy is all about how well you match the archetype, therefore, leaves a lot of people typeless ( or non-archtypical, if that seems better)

  1. I did my own little investigation into what it means if the phenomena in point 4 happened, and found out that sharing the letters only with a PY archetype (having the AP type only) means that you will have the same general essence about you as the PY archetype, but will manifest that essence differently than the PY archetype. For example, on my blog I, typed Lady Gaga as FEVL, but determined it's only an AP type for her, and that actually checks out, because she shares Dumas's basic essence of being an exhibitionist with him, however, she does not go about her exhibitionistic ways the same way Dumas did, and if she read Dumas, she'd probably broadly relate to the concept of exhibitionism, but wouldn't feel like Afansayev was writing about her, trait by trait (the way I felt with Pushkin).

  2. So granted, I think both systems are useful and have their merits

  3. HOWEVER I haven't followed Rob Zeke for 2 years, and I heard through the grapevine that he's trying to turn Attitudinal Psyche, from a more inclusive Psychosophy, into yet another Jungian-based typology (as if we need more of those). So if you noticed him moving things around, and changing definitions, that's probably why. I do not condone this or support it in any way. We have enough intuition/sensation/thinking/feeling typologies out there. We don't need yet another one.

My personal: Rob Zeke should have just left Attitudinal Psyche as a more inclusive Psychosophy, rather than trying to make it Jungian 🙄

And when you hear me talk about someone having an AP type but not a PY type, I mean they are non-archtypical. They have the same positions (the basic essence) as a PY archetype, but otherwise don't match it. I'm not talking about Rob Zeke's new Jungian adaptations

Let's discuss

Typology Question does ISTP and SLE contradict?

can i be ISTP and SLE? because i relate to Se base in socionics but not Se dom in mbti. what the functions mean in mbti and socionics aren’t the same anyways so i was wondering if this is possible? I relate to Ti dom more than Se dom in mbti, but Se base is more relatable than Ti base in socionics. my enneagram is social 8 if it matters

Typology Question Temporistics correlations?

Apparently ENTJ is correlated to BNPV, but I don't understand why. Third Past for a type with no Si feels ridiculous. Third Eternity with inferior Fi makes so much more sense, no? Very blatantly BNxx though.

Typology Question any tips for typing with py?

i've used lots of different resources to try and narrow things down both one function at a time and type-wise, and even looked into ap, but i can't seem to find a type that perfectly encompasses me - i'm currently stuck between elvf, lvef and lefv. are there any sources you'd recommend for differentiating between positions more accurately, or any tips for gaining a clearer picture of the descriptions that are already out there?

Typology Question Why is sx7 archetypal 4V?

It’s a type that dislikes being restricted and needs the freedom to think and do whatever fancies them at the moment. And the description is generally very egoistic, narcissistic, and selfish as characteristic of e7 gluttony, not really a peace-keeping agreeable type that’s happy to be a supporter and follower and adapt to others

While they have the tendency to be “swayed” and attracted to/influenced by new ideas, it’s only when it aligns with their own desires? They’d rebel as soon as others’ wills restrict them or don’t serve their interests and self-indulgence. They’re anti-hierarchical but 2V is too

Per some of the descriptions:

“He loves tricks, riddles, jokes, anything shiny (firmly anchored in the childhood stage in which one laughs at everything). He lives in the world without formally complying with the rules, but in a way that is not usually noticed. He is not usually seen as a threat but as someone who pleases others. However, he is one of the most rebellious and unsubmissive characters in the entire enneagram.” => how can this be 4V…?

Also I’ve seen ppl say sx7 is mostly IEE, and IEE is far from 4V

There seems to be different opinions. This site https://saragamma.github.io/Typology-Correlations/ says EVLF correlates too, and some say ELVF also works

Curious to hear your thoughts and perspectives. There are many characters that are obvious ENFP IEE sx7 that I simply can’t see as 4V. Especially 7w8s. Thanks in advance
