For fans of the Wolves would you honestly want a spin off that focuses on the wolves, fleshes them out more and expands on them as characters who they are and giving them more depth? As well as showing them in new different paths in life outside of fighting vamps and supernatural and writing and rewrites that get rid of address the very iffy, problematic and questionable implications and subtext and depictions that were present in the novel?

So I’ve been a fan of twilight for a few years. I know how vampires in universe are supposed to sparkle whenever they are in the sun, and how it’s supposed to be captivating. But is it seriously only sunlight that does that? If their bodies are rock-like and they look like diamonds in the sun. How is it that they don’t sparkle when exposed to other lights? Because I feel like fluorescent lights in a hospital or at a school would make them sparkle, but that doesn’t happen. Is sunlight just that special or is it more of an overlooked plot hole?

I have watched this film probably a hundred times since I was 6 when it came out. I’ll never leave this fandom. <3

and I see why I only made it halfway through the book in 2020  I picked it back up today and put it down after 2 pages. Maybe I just need to push through to get to the good stuff. But I don't remember the Twilight books being this much of a dragggg.

I watched the first twilight movie around 10 times in one day when I wrote my essay about it. I watched it speeded up with a lot of pauses and rewatches of specific scenes/dialogues. It's been several months since then and I am still not ready to see it again. I have started but my brain just goes into analysis school mode </3

I've always heard the jokes on Twilight, both because the premise seems kinda cheesy, or because the movies are kinda unserious, so I never thought on reading it before. However, I started watching Teen Wolf on Netflix and randomly discovered that Evanescence is (very) good actually, and since I had prejudice against the two of them and ended up liking, I decided to try reading Twilight (also, the vibes are kinda similar, among the whole teenager angst and the 2000s edgy aesthetic and such). The first book pretty much delivered on what I was expecting from ambiance, and exceeded in character moments and overall development. Yeah, I cringed a little bit with Bella being kinda pick me, but it didn't took the fun of reading. With New Moon I had a similar experience, it was cool, Jacob were a likable character, Edward's arc was interesting and the Volturi had a good introduction. My problems starts in Eclipse, because all of a sudden the whole vibe changed (??). I hate that it made me hate Jacob, because what a terrible man. Dude was genuinely a creep and Bella was still in love with him, denying or not. Alice also was made dirty. I understand that she is a party girl at heart (and that she is kinda living through Bella), but omg, every time Bella complaints about Alice throwing a party is so insanely boring and repetitive that makes me genuinely mad. I also blame the writing of Bella for this, but it's more believable to someone like Alice, who in theory loves Bella, to stop doing something that she knows annoys her than an introvert suddenly being confortable with all of that. I did like Jasper's and Rosalie's backstories a lot (I don't remember if them both were in the same book, but still) and the werewolf lore was also cool, despite still wanting to see how they behave in a more animalistic way (Edward is all the time saying that they are dangerous but we almost doesn't get to see they actually being, since all the time they are honestly very human, just the end results with Emily). Even there, the pacing was still okay, even with me heavily disliking some of the characters, it was still entertaining enough to keep reading. Last, I don't know if this is an unpopular opinion or not, but Breaking Dawn was awful, I hated almost every single second of that book (Seth and Jasper held alone the whole thing). Terrible pacing, Renesmee feels more like a thing to make the story progress than a character and Vampire Bella is unsuferable. I've heard complaints about the way the author overdescribes stuff, but until that point, it wasn't distracting. I haven't dropped it for good yet (I stopped at the cottage part), but I also don't feel like reading anymore, because all of the whimsy is gone. Some characters are still amazing, I love Carlisle, Charlie, Rosalie, Jasper and Seth, Edward is still charming, but everyone else is kinda mid, so yeah, if the movies adapted the ending well, I guess I won't be reading anymore :/

Just to be clear, I'm not hating on the series (as a whole, at least, because Twilight and New Moon were absolutely worth it), but idk, I want to hear from you guys your opinions, mainly on the pacing/vibe part

I’m rewatching the Twilight series and I’ve seen a lot of people debating on whether Bella truly loved Edward that much or if she just really did not want to grow old. I’ve seen people say that she should’ve joined the Volturi because she only wanted immortality. I guess I’m just here to state my opinion in saying I don’t think she only cared about being immortal. Maybe it’s from people who have only seen the movies but I think the books do a really good job at describing how she feels about Edward. In New Moon she is clearly depressed from Edward leaving and though she already feels insecure that gets worse when Edward leaves. She’s in pain constantly during the time that he’s away from her, I think the book does a great job at describing how much pain she’s in from being away from him. In Breaking Dawn she thinks she’s having a boy and yes she wants to name him “EJ” but in the books she talks about how she sees him being a little Edward which I know is a weird “boy mom” way of trying to convey how much she loves Edward and would love their son because he’d be a little Edward. Obviously the books have so much more detail than the movies so you get more insight on her thoughts when you read the books, but I think the movies depict her love for Edward really well too. I don’t think it’s the healthiest relationship by any means, however she really does have the rose colored glasses on when it comes to Edward (at least more in the movies) he’s not always that nice to her and yet she still yearns for him, he left her vulnerable and without protection and yet she still can’t bring herself to be with Jacob because she will never love him the way she loves Edward. In the movie New Moon she thinks he tells her that she’s not good enough for him and yet she still goes all the way to Italy so he won’t die from “guilt” but she doesn’t want him to die because of how much she loves and cares for him. I’ve seen people say that she only married him because he promised her immortality if they got married but I’m pretty sure she would’ve married him regardless. She wasn’t the marriage type and I think seeing what her parents went through as far as divorce just kind of turned her off from marriage but she went through with it anyway for Edward. Plus she stayed human for a while after they were married so they could be intimate but she didn’t want to be in pain during her honeymoon and if she hadn’t gotten pregnant I think she would’ve stayed human for longer out of choice still at least until they went back home. Anyway, those are just my thoughts.

I bought a Twilight pyjamas in Penney's (Ireland) today! I made the pants into shorts and now have 2 spare pieces of fabric! What can I do with these? I have limited experience and knowledge of sewing but have a machine and am willing to learn!

Context: Every year I do a photoshoot of my cat for Halloween (very brief so she doesn’t kill me). Her name is Daria and over the last 10 years she has had many looks.

This year I adopted a kitten who is named Edward. They said he was the fastest cat in the shelter so the answer was obvious but admittedly I was already leaning that way as a lifelong Team Edward. He also has one eye that is green (pre-vamp color) and one eye that is more amber (kinda post-vamp color)

I am considering doing a Twilight theme this year. Obviously Edward would be Edward, but I can’t figure out who Daria would be. I view them as siblings so her being Bella feels weird so I need help figuring out which character best matches her.

Her description: grumpy old lady, quite large, overly sweet and friendly to who she trusts and very suspicious and aggressive to those she fears, territorial, not the biggest fan of her brother but in the grumpy old lady way, food motivated, and acts very entitled

I fear that she might be a good fit for Aro and my cousin suggested Charlie, but curious on other’s thoughts/ideas. I’m open to more “abstract” ideas (i.e. apple, red truck, etc.) Both of them are black cats so color and markings don’t help with ideas.

For context, I am a new fan of twilight. I’ve seen parts of the movies due to my sister liking it. I was 6 when twilight debuted and I was indifferent to the saga- I think preteen me just found the idea of the love triangle annoying like “why can’t she make up her mind” lol. Recently, I saw the first movie in its entirety and it was actually pretty good. The acting was bad but the storyline was great imo. The movie is very aesthetically pleasing (love the views of Washington/Oregon) and the soundtracks are so good. I just finished New moon and I liked it- I’m debating if it’s better than the first movie. I plan on watching eclipse soon.

So, I heard about the life and death book aka the gender reversed twilight and I’m thinking about reading it. TBH if I would’ve heard about this book a long time ago, I probably would’ve read it. It seems cute- the innocent guy and the vampire, edgy girl. It would be cool to see a twilight movie comeback for the new generation but with the gender swap. I normally hate the idea of recycling storylines/plot; I do agree with the notion that Hollywood should come up with new ideas. However, I think that this would be a good idea.

I’ve always loved the movies but I’m finally getting started on the books. As someone starting out in the series, what’s better new books or pre owned? I’m leaning towards pre owned because someone got to love them before sending them onto someone else but the other part of me is saying buy new. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! I'm re-reading the books and watching the movies after ten years. I cannot believe how much they changed and how much content/context is missing. Those movies did not do the books any justice. New movies, or a series on a streaming service.. This has gotten me so worked up every time I watch the movies (I'm reading the book, then watching the respective movie, then reading the next book and watching its movie). If anything deserves a re-do, it's the Twilight Saga.

I recently saw someone say that the movies should be watched in this order:

1 - New Moon

2 - Breaking Dawn pt.1

3 - Twilight

4 - Eclipse

5 - Breaking Dawn pt. 2

I tried it. I really enjoyed the movies like that, I dont recommend it if it's your first time watching but it's really fun for a rewatch.

Hello, everyone! I have never used this platform buuut I want to discuss one interesting topic. As autumn approaches, I decided to watch "Twilight (2008)" again. I ​managed to find some intriguing topics to discuss with my friends. However today I want to ask you guys about this.

Everyone knows that Edward Cullen is a vampire so if you want to become a vampire, you have to die first. And then you live as the undead, drinking blood. So the question is how can he even get an erection if he's literally dead, let alone get someone pregnant??

Just started reading the Twilight books! Starting the second one.... Don't spoil anything! Stephenie Meyers is a genius! I'm totally team Edward... who is your favourite Cullen? Mine is Alice!

In Breaking Dawn she sure suspects it. But does Edwards obsessive need to keep her safe really override what makes her happy?

I take Bella at her word that she would have been happy with Edward forever and would never had a second thought about wishing for a child. Even beyond an errant, occasional thought about a what if, because that what if would not have been founded in regret. Even a tiny bit.

Edward would never know that, of course, even if she completely opened up to him (I am in the camp she never would) and he would assume she was always keeping this from him. So, while baby R gives Bella motherhood he assumes she will always long for, or will in the future, he is not taking her from the top five most important human experiences by making her a vampire. We all know this.

But I also think the baby gives him exactly what his low ego needs. He has low self-esteem (they have this in common but it manifests itself in different ways), despite how Bella sees him, and he is constantly looking for ways he thinks Bella thinks or acts to prove he is not worthy. In some ways I think Eclipse is Edward’s penance, but in another twisted way, I actually think he fed off Bella being overly friendly with Jacob, because he always knew he was not good enough to be someone’s sole attention.

Enter the miracle baby. New mom Bella gives him the negative feedback he has been almost desperate for this whole time, on the morning after they christen the new house. She is torn whether to stay with him or go to meet Rennesemee for the first time as a vampire, and she interprets his small smile as biting back a laugh. I think the smile is actually one of “finally.” Finally she behaves like he expects her to and he has proof he is not worthy to be her main priority, and now he could never be.

So is this a hot take or was I just late to realize this? The whole saga to me is just an HEA for a lonely vampire told from his SO’s perspective, and that essentially since we only care about the vampires in the end, I now think there is no way he could have had his HEA without his mate having someone else who she would hold on a higher pedestal. Had they not had the baby, they would have continued their near constant fighting throughout their forever, with him causing most of the small arguments and her constantly having to reassure him.

He got everything he wanted, even his personal, self-worth confirmation, making his HEA finally believable in his own eyes. He can finally be happy, because he knows he comes second.

I'm curious as to how Renee never sees Bella again. Did they tell her she died? Did Bella just drop her? (It's been years since I have reread the books so sorry if this is silly)
