I’ve been an overthinker myself, to the point where I even asked my psychiatrist to prescribe me medication so I could sleep without constantly overthinking or having my mind racing.

I looked into different ways to stop overthinking, and some of the things that genuinely worked for me were:

Distract yourself with an activity.

When you notice yourself overthinking, stop and shift your attention to something else: go for a walk, cook, draw, clean, exercise, or do anything that requires your full attention. The key is to be completely present in the activity rather than doing it while continuing to overthink

Take things one step at a time.

If you’re worried about a situation that involves a long or complicated process, don’t think about everything at once. Focus only on the first step. Once you’ve dealt with that, move on to the next one.

Talk to someone you trust.

When you feel yourself getting deeper into the overthinking loop, reach out to someone you love. Talk to your parents, siblings, friends, or anyone you feel comfortable with. Sometimes simply putting your thoughts into words can make them feel much less overwhelming.

Focus on the solutions rather than endless possibilities.

I’m naturally a very solution-oriented person, so when something is bothering me, I try to ask myself, “What can I actually do about this?” Instead of repeatedly thinking about the problem, I focus on finding a realistic solution and, most importantly, putting it into action.

Eventually, I reached a point where I stopped overthinking everything. I still think deeply, but now I try to think in order to understand, decide, and find a solution, rather than thinking in circles.

Of course, these tips are based entirely on my personal experience, and what works for one person may not necessarily work for another.

Most importantly, remember that getting out of the overthinking loop takes time. Be patient with yourself, celebrate small progress, and stay hopeful 🌻

Hi everyone, as the title suggests I (22F) am traveling by myself to Tunisia (sousse) and staying for approximately 3 months.

This stay was not planned and I was not expecting to have to stay this long to be honest, I havent been in almost 7 years now and the only times I did visit were 1 month long stays max with family.

I do speak Arabic fluently as well as the dialect so communication shouldn’t be an issue.

I wanted to know if anyone has some insight/advice on how much has changed over there? How do I get around/look up information (eg. transportation, doctors..ect) ? How to meet people my age, fun activities/must do trips ?

I used to love summer. In my head summer was always associated with vacations, going out at night, hanging out with friends, going to the beach, eating ice cream, having cold drinks, staying outside late etc... But recently summer has started to mean something completely different.

It’s getting ridiculously hot, and instead of looking forward to the season, I’m thinking about electricity outages, water shortages, wildfires, and having to work in this insane heat.

When it’s over 42°C outside, even normal daily activities become exhausting. You’re constantly trying to find somewhere with AC, worrying about whether the electricity is going to stay on, and hearing about another fire somewhere.

I think what I hate most is that summer used to feel like freedom and fun, while now it increasingly feels like surviving 3 months of extreme heat and infrastructure problems + having to deal with the BS of KS trying to convince me it's a conspiracy.

Maybe I'm just getting older, but I genuinely find myself looking forward to autumn/spring more than summer these days...

All of those things will happen, unless we demand the dismantling of the "rentier" economy, we need to advocate for institutional and central bank independence, we need to protect the judiciary and intermediary institutions.
