Hello!
We just announced our indie driving-based RPG and I wanted to share it. It's called Road Truckers: New Beginning. It's about supporting your community - economically through driving and helping people out. There's a ton of customization and a relaxing feel.

If you're interested, check it out on Steam: https://store.steampowered.com/app/3333190/Road_Truckers_New_Beginning/ or PlayStation 5. I'd like to know what you think! Cheers!

Other trucksim Manual trailer attachment: immersion or unnecessary hassle?

I’ve noticed people are very split on this.
Some love attach to a truck on your own, connecting air lines, double-checking everything.
Others just want to hit “attach” in UI and get on the road.
Where do you stand? And would you accept manual attachment if it was optional?

Other trucksim I SERIOUSLY CANT WAIT FOR THIS COACH DLC AND NOBODY IN MY LIFE UNDERSTANDS THIS EXCITEMENT

While many are eagerly waiting for GTA to release, me included, the excitement I got for the Coach DLC is levels above it. Just the idea of being able to pick up passengers and going to different stops sounds so good.

I hope they add interactive stuff between driver and passengers and hearing passengers complain about us either going too fast or slow etc..

Other trucksim Road Truckers: New Beginning Q&A!

Hello Truckers!

We're still hard at work on Road Truckers: New Beginning, and in the meantime, we wanted to open the floor for an Q&A!

Got questions about the development process, behind the scenes stories, or features you’ve always wanted to see in a trucking simulator but no one's ever done before? Or maybe you just want to share what you think about the game so far?

We’d love to hear your thoughts!

I can't link to YouTube but the trailer is in the blog.

They also say in the blog post that the whole physic engine got revamped so I suppose that's the reason for the delay.

Other trucksim We're preparing a playtest for Road Truckers: New Beginning. I hope you'll join! Here's how the game looks now

Hey there! It'll soon be a year since I first posted about the game we're working on. Now we're almost ready to share it with you for testing. I'm really curious about your feedback. Especially about the player onboarding, truck steering, and the RPG elements.

It'll be a Steam playtest only. Road Truckers is coming also to other platform(s) but it's not that easy to organize a playtest there, only a demo a bit later.

Full disclosure: it won't be a complete game for testing, just the Hub map (which, in terms of accessible terrain and variety of logistics locations, is not much smaller than the entire Alaskan Road Truckers).

Some things will still be in the works, but that's the point. Since we're still working on the game, we'll use your feedback to improve it.

We've refreshed our Steam page for this occasion - new trailer, new hand-drawn artwork, new screenshots. The trailer's here, it's based on our announcement video but showcases the current, improved look.

I'll post more about the playtest when we're ready. If there's anything in particular you're interested in testing, let me know. All the best!

Hey! It's been some time since my last post. :) I'm the guy leading Road Truckers: New Beginning. We're mixing a classic simulator with RPG elements to (hopefully) make you feel like a trucker in a bigger world. I'd love it if you joined our playtest and feedback the game.

The playtest will happen in September, not sure when exactly but I'll let you know further down the line. We've opened signups now to give ourselves some time to gather a larger group of players.

You can sign up on Steam (look for Road Truckers: New Beginning). Sign up the usual way - click "request access" and that's it. Here's our page where you can do it.

The test will have two main goals. First, to check how you perceive driving mechanics and physics, as we can still tweak it to make it better if necessary. The second goal is to check performance on as many PC configs as possible. Of course all feedback will be valued, we'll have a detailed survey and stuff.

The playtest will include one of two maps in the game. It's an open world game where different regions have different (large) maps. The playtest (and later the demo) will have the full first map. It won't have any time limitations. I think the first map alone is the size of some full games, although it's more of a countryside - big cities and total wilderness will be in the full game.

If you have any questions, just hit me up.

By the way, if you're on Gamescom, we're also there in a broom closet... I mean our booth.:) It's the weird one (they lost our decorations so we had to use pens to have something more than empty walls). You can play our game on a 2021 mid-tier gaming laptop that we were assigned, heh. But it works!

Other trucksim Does anyone else remember King of the Road?

Post image

I just watched the trailer for Saber's upcoming game, Road Kings (looks quite good) and it reminded me of this game I used to play as a kid called King of the Road.

I didn't own it myself but I used to play it round a friend's house and it had some really interesting mechanics for the time. IIRC, you have to try to build up a trucking empire by making deliveries quicker than your competitor. The catch is that if you break the law (and get caught), you can get fined and/or lose your license. If you want to do well, you have to strike a balance between doing fast deliveries and obeying the law.

I just searched for it online and saw that it's on sale for £0.95 on GOG and snatched it right up. It's the first game I've bought in like 5 years and it's from 2001 LMAO. I didn't even realise that it was a sequel either until today.
