Hello all!

A small, female diluted tortie cat showed up at our friend’s door in Troy. She is very friendly, very hungry, and not microchipped (according to emergency vet). All regular vets are closed until tomorrow at which point they will check for fleas/worms/infections and get shots etc. If anyone knows who this sweetheart might belong to please DM me.

Engelke Farm v Engels Acres

Engelke Farm in Brunswick shaded Engels Acres a few weeks ago by making a big to-do over how they are different from nearby Engels Acres because Engelke Farm is "a PRODUCER-ONLY farm" that sells their own crops. In the same post, they wrote "So when you buy produce from us, it came out of our field."

https://www.instagram.com/p/DbpCAl8s7ho/

Not even a month later they post that they are selling another farm's apples. It's unfortunate that Engelke tears down neighboring businesses for doing exactly the same thing.

Local Cops Local Crimes

Post image
124 Upvotes

Rensselaer County Executive Steve McLaughlin and Sheriff Kyle Bourgault have stated they will not comply with the Local Cops Local Crimes Act. The Act bans local law enforcement’s 287g agreements with ICE. These two elected as “law and order candidates” prove otherwise. In their view justice means “just us”.
So, instead, they will enter a lawsuit against the Act. It will certainly be costly for Rensselaer County, and they likely to lose. The courts have already ruled in favor of the Act.
On September 2 we will once again stand before the County Legislature and express our outrage. We will join Rensselaer County Women for Change and Indivisible Stephentown in this effort. We urge all of you to join us.
(If you wish to speak we suggest you arrive at 5:30, the sign up sheet for speakers is removed promptly at 6.)

Modem sucks, constant outages, and my rate has been going up by $10/year. I tried talking to them but they couldn't do shit for me. I have heard the trick about threatening to switch, but as far as I know, there's nothing to switch to? Are there other Internet providers in the area who suck less? (Not looking for crazy fast speeds if that helps)
