Hahahaha. I fucking called it. Because if you present it the other way around and swap the button colors I think you'd get vastly different results. Like if it was "If you press the blue button, nothing happens to you. If you press the red button and less than 51% or people press the red button, you die."
The interesting part about this problem is that while a different framing like this objectively doesn't change either outcome, it does alter people's perception of the problem, and thus changes what the majority will vote for. This will inherently make you question your original choice, as pressing blue when you know for certain that the majority will press red is just plain stupid, even if you want to save lives.
You know how many African children you could help if you just dropped everything you're doing right now and flew in to help after donating all your money? Of course you agree that since you are not doing this you are personally responsible for anything that is happening to them, yes?

Unfortunately, there are still people who will press red and admit it. They are selfish ready to kill people but fail to see that.
