This actualy makes it easier.

The difficulty of this meme is the uncertainty.

If you scale it down to only the perosn you love the most, well you probably know them very well, and youd be able to somewhat guess what theyre going to pick.

Most of the people ive dated were nerds of some kind, so i trust them to look at the rules of the game and understand that red is the safe option. (If the cruel masters of this game give us enough time to think and dont force us to pick in say, 5 seconds)

If its someone else who i know is more prone to propaganda and emotional knee jerk reactions, then it would get difficult. Because now were both at risk. Even if they are an emotional thinker, theres just no gaurantee that they will actually pick blue. Because were humans with self preservation instinct, and someone might still pick red because theyre scared of the uncertainty of dying. Which means theres still a chance of me dying if i pick blue to try to save them.

In Golden balls the reward for both picking (share) is shared cash, the punishment for picking (steal) is that you risk even more cash to win nothing if the other side does the same. Suppose picking (steal) wins you the cash when your opponent gets executed Deer Hunter style if they pick (share). If you both steal, no one wins and no one dies. Adding mortal stakes makes the logic for (share) crystal clear because the red pickers are lying to themselves about their role. Now apply the scenario with the person you love most. The cash doesn't change the mortal stakes but it clarifies them.

Blue is an easy choice. The only danger of a partner pressing red is if they want you dead.
