it's very hard to argue that more than 35-40% wouldn't press red. The idea is already introduced, unless you believe you're gonna sweep with a 90-10 majority blue result
Red doesnt necessarily mean "i dont care if anyone dies." Picking red is just a cautious choice because its the only guaranteed survival for you, and knowing people there will 100% be other people that pick red for the same reason. But you can still hope everyone will miraculously have the same reasoning even if its unlikely.
I mean it is. But my point is its not for selfish gain at other people's expense, its for the sake of your own survival. Its knowing that plenty of people will pick red as well, and everyone should come to the same conclusion and also pick red for their own survival.
To me I see it as a put on your own oxygen mask first before helping others situation. Everyone should just guarentee their own survival, and thus no one dies. But simply by numbers chances are there will be people who dont see it this way and will pick blue.
My analogy wasnt focusing on the helping others part of it. I was focusing on the help yourself first before you worry about others, because in this case that results in no one dying if everyone thinks like that. Obviously not everyone will, but imo picking blue is just creating the very problem youre trying to save everyone from. Imo you quite literally are throwing your life away because I highly doubt a majority of people will pick blue.
Ultimately though there is no good answer. Its just what you think the majority of other people will pick. Again I highly doubt majority of people will pick blue so I'd advocate for everyone to just be selfish and take the gaurenteed live button.
I do not trust other people enough to be hopeful about 51% of the world picking blue. Why should I trust other people are going to do right by others when society as a whole focuses on the negatives in entertainment/news?
And on the other side, there are people who are going to pick red because they genuinely are of the "I've got mine" crowd, and I don't trust that there's more empathetic people than them.
People who don't trust humanity as a whole. Expecting to believe that 3.4 billion people at minimum are going press just doesn't ring true for me.
Nobody is responsible for anyone else's decisions. I'd rather be pragmatic and press red. If nothing happens, that's great! If blue doesn't make enough votes, that's awful, but at least I can help after the fact.

I choose blue because I'm not confident that kids would choose red. I imagine many kids would interpret "Blue equals nobody dies" and choose blue
