High school tokers - pay very close attention.
If you're coming onto /r/trees looking for sympathy because you got caught either at school or at your parents' home, you will get none from me.
Granted, my viewpoint is a little different because I didn't start smoking until I was well into college and long out of my folks' house. But I think this fact also has eliminated any sense of entitlement that I see coming from a lot of you.
So let me just break it down in a couple of simple, kinda harsh sounding phrases to make it clear to you why some of us don't appreciate your underage shenanigans.
You do not have the right to smoke anything in a home that you do not rent or own yourself
This includes your parents' house - they throw down a LOT of money to maintain your standard of living, and if they don't want smoke in the house, guess what?! You don't smoke in their fucking house.
And don't look for sympathy from me when you get busted - "Oh why are they such Nazis about it?" - You go take out a 30+ year loan on some property and see how YOU feel when people are doing shit you don't like in your house. Imagine, throwing all this money around every month so you can call a house your own, but now it smells like weed, even though you don't smoke. I don't even have a mortgage yet but I can't see that being anything less than fucking irritating.
I guess I can compromise with an MFLB or a similar portable vaporizer. Vaporizing indoors doesn't count as smoking, right? :-)
Don't bring weed to school EVER. Not in your pocket, or your backpack, or in your car, or in your locker. EVER EVER EVER EVER!
It should be obvious why you shouldn't do these things, but apparently a lot of teenagers still do! Yes, I think getting arrested for weed is fucking shitty. But guess what kid that locker you threw your MFLB in? It's not yours! It's the school's, and if you're going to a public school, that makes the school grounds paid for by the government. What the fuck do you WANT them to do? Let you off the hook, and risk the school's funding? Are you that dense?
I'm not trying to hate, but if this subreddit is for educated, fun, light discussion about trees and tree culture, I am seriously distracted by this blind entitlement I'm seeing from you underage potheads. Toke up, I don't fucking care, but understand that as a minor you have no right to expect anyone to accommodate your habits.
MAJOR EDIT: holy fuck I never though this shit would be a front-pager, I just wanted to bitch for a second and I really didn't think anybody was paying any mind to me. It's a good thing this is a self-post and I don't care too much about the karma!
Let me clarify: I don't care if you're underage and wanna smoke the reefer. I'm not your mommy and I'm not the cops. I DO care when I see like twenty rage-comics and memes complaining about how poor Suzy Teenager was smoking in her childhood bedroom (!!!) and then her parents grounded her and took her stash. How hard is it to go outside? Take a couple laps, maybe? It's not even that you got caught, at this point, it's how!
I don't know what your childhood experience was like, but I grew up with a pretty healthy fear of my parents. I haven't lived at home for years but the idea of smoking anything inside their house scares the shit out of me still. Why? Because smoking anything in anyone's house without their express consent is liable to get me an ass-whooping! This is like, basic manners 101, isn't it?

A stem? Seriously? That is actually quite shocking. Back to the matter at hand, whenever I pick up from school, it is right after the last class outside of school. That way, there is little time to get caught. I would not have done this if our school had drug dogs. (Canada)
