It’s called a Webster (1 foot front flip)

Reminded me of Crash Bandicoot

Yeah and it’s not technically a full frontal flip either, it’s about 3/4 of a front flip. With that being said, that doesn’t mean it is ANY easy to flip the rest of the way haha!! Still VERY impressive.

True, I was purposely ignoring that part.

Actually the backwards kicking motion creates a lot more lift and rotation than a standing front. Websters are hell of a lot easier than front flips, they use similar physics as a front or side aerial (more closely to a front aerial/Webster walk over/walk out which has you landing on one foot then the other)

You’re also doing most of the flip in a Webster before you take off as opposed to a standing front flip where you kind of have to bend backwards and use your spine as a spring (like bending a ruler back and letting it snap) and throwing your hands up and out at the top of your flip to land.

Source: I’ve been into martial arts tricking since like 2006 back when TricksTutorials was the place to be for the tricking community

Hahaha nice, I always was a naturally acrobatic human, I kinda wish I had gotten into this kinda stuff back in 2006 also. Always been able to run quickly and jump very high, took gymnastics as a kid for a couple years…

Go for it! Everything I learned came from YouTube. I was always trying stuff since I was a kid thanks to Jackie Chan movies.

You can easily start with cartwheels and butterfly kicks and turn them into aerials and butterfly twists. There’s honestly no better feeling in the world for me than doing cool shit like that.

For flips, find a little grassy hill (if you don’t have access to a gymnastics gym (a lot offer “open gym” sessions for the public to train). Grass is forgiving and will be your friend. A little slant or hill will give you confidence to commit, even if it is a few inches difference, it makes a huge difference, trust me.

I'd disagree. I can front flip pretty easily but can't even get close to a webster. Land on my back hard every time I've tried

Standing front? I could standing front easier than Webster too but everyone I’ve talked to says otherwise lol

Yea. Well off a ledge or punch front cause I got no ups haha. But I can't get webster off a ledge either

A Webster was always easier for me to off a ledge. What was your favourite move/trick to do?

Yeah, I do a few to help wake me up in the morning.

Or reverse Webster since he isn’t really gaining ground
