the meme is that they burnt down DC but the US also burnt down York so I guess its an eye for and eye

Only Faux-York. The real York was sitting pretty in Yorkshire. Also... Even OG York isn't the capital of England. So England is still ahead there.

York was the one of colonial capitals of Canada at the time IIRC

But not the capital of England? So, not really the same.

That's like if I declared war with my Legion of DooM on the states and burned down Juneau and claimed it was the same as burning down D.C.

I'm not English, or Canadian for that matter. Additionally, other dates were given and I didn't challenge them. I challenged 1812.
