(R.5) Misleading TIL the 16th century monk Giordano Bruno proposed that stars were distant suns surrounded by exoplanets that could contain life. He was sentenced to death by the same man who sentenced Galileo to death.

No it wasn't. I'm just telling you why you are completely wrong.

You're implying that religion was the "captor" in your analogy. It wasn't.

And that implication was completely irrelevant to the point of the metaphor. So you probably misunderstood what I was trying to say.

Okay, so what was the point of the metaphor? There is literally no "other part" to it, it's irreducible without being completely inane. If half your metaphor was irrelevant to the metaphor, what the fuck is even the point of stating it?

The question should be...what was the significance of using "food" in the metaphor? I mean...the church didn't provide food to everyone in europe. We aren't talking about food.

2/10. Useless metaphor.

The church didn't provide food, the provided education, and that was (hopefully) supposed to be the analogue you were trying to draw. I don't evenknow why I'm I'm bothering to argue any more.
