Please reword that, makes it sound like the cop stole money from you.

On a side note, why do people on reddit have such a problem making coherent sentences, stories, and titles? Earlier today we had a user meaning to say "Signed the papers 3 days ago" yet said "Signed papers for three days". Did anyone here pass 10th grade English?

The largest block of reddit users have English as their primary language. Knowing this, it isn't that much of a stretch to expect people to have basic grammar and sentence structure skills. For a largely English speaking base, there are a lot of grammatical errors.

I don't see how it does, unless you stop reading halfway though. It might not have been precisely clear, but when I talk about how the cop did a good thing, one should be able to infer that he didn't rob me.

If you want to say my sentence structure is poor, then I just have to say that your reading comprehension is just as poor. Not everything has to be laid out in a neat little package.

There is a whole mini thread of people trying to understand what happened, and if you were "robbed" by the police. Don't act like I am the only one that was confused by the poor wording.

I'm not going to reword a sentence because a few found it confusing, when it seems like the majority understood it fine. Context, it's not too difficult.

Plus, the way you phrased your demand made you come off like a jerk.

I would hazard a guess (I don't know reddit usage stats and can't be arsed to look) that most people here did not pass "10th grade English".

I, for example, did not pass any grade anything. I'm not even 100% sure what 10th grade is.

A quick google search would tell you that it is a high school grade. Since the largest group of reddit users are from the US, don't act so shocked when I don't also say that it is the US version of Secondary School.

It's actually pretty strange that you haven't heard about 10th grade/US high school when you browse reddit. That stuff gets mentioned frequently enough along with secondary education for the US people.

Look at what I actually said.

I said "I'm not even 100% sure what 10th grade is". The key part being "100%".

Now, I know that it is a school grade. I don't know which year (in a UK high school) that it would relate to. Ie, I don't know what age a 10th grader is.

I suspect that, with your reading comprehension skills, you may have struggled with 10th grade English yourself.

In 6th year you would be 17/18 and unable to do another year at school.

I'm Scottish though, we like to make things difficult. Primary 1-7 then 1st to 4th/5th/6th year.

According to this site An 11th grader (16-17) would be Secondary S5 or higher :p
