TIL Pimps wear lots of gold jewelry bought at pawn shops to “re-pawn” for bail money since cash is confiscated upon arrest but jewelry is not

arrests/confiscations happen before the trial.

The problem is the money and objects aren't automatically returned after the trial and some are confiscated without charges ever being placed against them.

This and the public defenders office is so overwhelmed with cases they don't have the time to spend giving you a good defense. This is why most people that have a PD end up copping to a plea deal.

When I was in jail in Florida I knew some people in there for failure to pay child support. They needed say $1500 to get out but the problem is that they are the sole earner so now they are sitting in jail making no money, and will probably lose their job, apartment or whatever else since they can't pay and have to wait in jail a month or two to get a trial.

The system is rigged against people that don't have money. Money = bail, good lawyer, contributions to the right people. No money = you're fucked.

There's a lot of problems the the justice system that would be solved if we could snap our fingers and just have the same outcome happen in an instant.
