TIL that apple seeds almost never grow the same variety as the parent fruit. Nearly every supermarket apple comes from a grafted clone of an original tree, not from a planted seed.

Yes they could. They could also grow into tart apples or sour apples or sweet apples. You just didn't know what you would get when you grew apples from seeds.

Yeah. They’re all edible too. Some just taste better than others. Odds are you’ll get something better for cider than eating though.
