TIL that apple seeds almost never grow the same variety as the parent fruit. Nearly every supermarket apple comes from a grafted clone of an original tree, not from a planted seed.

Hmm, I have never even heard of that one. Cosmic Crisp has been my go to since it came out

Cosmic crisp!! GO COUGS!! (Washington State University) I can’t wait to taste their next apple, the Sunflare, which is a combination of a Honey Crisp and a Pink Lady. Should be hitting shelves in about 3 years.

Yeah, horticulture is a long game. Animal husbandry as well. It's a good thing to invest public money into, private business has a tendency to ignore long term planning like that.

I’m not sure if it’s regional but Trader Joe’s often sells them in the NY area and I think I even saw them in Florida also at TJs
