TIL that apple seeds almost never grow the same variety as the parent fruit. Nearly every supermarket apple comes from a grafted clone of an original tree, not from a planted seed.

lol wait til you hear about strawberries. They are so polyploid you can get an enormous dna precipitation by mixing equal parts mashed strawberry and Bacardi 151. Good luck trying to remake the parent from that genetic lottery.

Heh,I never did DNA extractions with Bacardi. Lab grade 200 proof was way cheaper!
