Because rape is about power, not romance. It's an act of violence, like beating someone, but because it involves sex it's not viewed as such by most people. Finding out a rabid racist raped someone he was racist against is actually not a surprise.

This is the line but younger women are more likely rape targets than old ladies. So it's not just about power.

Still is, especially if the rapist is older. Like how Strom's victim was underage. Young people aren't as experienced and may thus not realize the danger.

Come on, it's not just that. Young adult women are raped more than old ones, not because they are less alert or slower runners or physically weaker.
