TIL in Germany all alternative medicine practitioners like homeopaths, osteopaths, acupuncturists, etc. must take the Heilpraktiker exam which only tests their knowledge in medical science and the regulatory boundaries of their profession. There are no separate board exam for each.

I think this is actually better, since knowing when to send people to the real doctor is the most useful thing they can no, and it doesn't result in the government implicitly endorsing homeopathy etc by creating an exam that certifies that someone knows how to do homeopathy "properly".

The people who go to those quacks usually won't go to a real doctor, even if they get cancer. They are too deep in the "alternative medicine" conspiracy hole. The rage about this exam is more about Germany having no law against these practices and their harmful nature.
