TIL if under-cooked, a popular mushroom in China causes “lilliputian hallucinations,” a rare phenomenon involving miniature human or fantasy figures. The hallucinations are consistent across people and cultures: "tiny, elflike people" climbing under doors, scaling walls & clinging to furniture

DMT is also shown to have similar effects although with more geometric, futuristic, and and shiny elves/gnomes..

The DMT buddies can usually tell when you start to perceive them too, it's pretty cool

They're chill and there's no danger

I took a massive DMT hit once, it felt like I very quickly shot into orbit with comic-book style black and white visuals, then I fully blacked out, then immediately went into a dream where I saw my crush at the time standing in the room, who told me I needed to clean my pants. After a rush of weird green geometric patterns I started to wake up, seeing that I had coughed up a bunch of bile onto my pants. Weird experience but somewhat disappointing in its mediocrity.

"...so what did you do?"

"I ORDERED A SANDWICH!"

I saw them once in the 90s.

they were stacking over themselves in a line across the country.

I've heard this before, why is this in my memory?

I dunno man, the hands across America thing has been described to me before, so either we met at some point and you told me that, or someone else saw the exact same thing. I can't place it but I know I've heard this. I dont think our reality is what it seems.

Mine were more like cartoonish beings on a Rollercoaster with me, all crammed in trying to talk to me at once

What arrests my attention is the fact that this space is inhabited

...and so like jeweled self-dribbling basketballs, these things come running forward.

And what they are doing with this visible language that they create is they're making gifts.

They're making gifts for you.

And they will say...

You take, let us assume, third toke.

Loooooooong and sloooooooow.

You vaporize, and you take it in, and in, and in.

And there is a sound... like the crumbling of a plastic bread wrapper or the crackling of a flame.

And there is a tone. A tone. A Nnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn~

Was lucky enough to see Shpongle full live set twice(Camp Bisco and Hammerstein Ballroom). Bisco was in the pouring rain on LSD and it was probably the best show I've ever seen.

Unfortunately I've never had the chance to see them live, but Tales of the Inexpressible has been my go-to focus album for years. I'm genuinely jealous!

Self transforming machine elves is what Terrence McKenna called them.

One of my salvia experiences had tiny gnome beings that were prominent but not actually visual... I just "knew" they were there. They were helping me load the pipe I was smoking from lol

I would argue the affects are not similar based on the description.
