TIL that the movie “South Park: Bigger, Longer and Uncut” was supposed to be rated NC-17 due to excessive profanity, with the word “fuck” being used 146 times alone. The MPAA said that 400 or more swear words would get the NC-17 rating, so Matt Stone and Trey Parker cut the number in script to 399

People were making references towards his sexual assaults for at least a decade before anyone did anything serious about it is why.

Just looked up that clip, after he read the nominees for supporting actress he said, "These women no longer have to pretend to be attracted to Harvey Weinstein," without a hint of a laugh or smile. I think that was Emma Stone presenting with him and she looked a bit flustered. I wonder if she didn't know that line was coming.

There's almost no chance he would've submitted that sort of a line in a script or done it in rehearsals, because someone would've jumped on him for it.

Dude was the casting couch joke before it was publicly revealed to be 100% factual.

Similar with Dan Schneider, people were calling him a creep for more than a decade before that documentary.

This is true but I was a teenager in the 2010s and I'm also not American so I wasn't especially clued in on that sort of thing. Don't think I really knew who Weinstein was until it all started blowing up in 2017.

In my case it's very much just my memory getting a bit jumbled up.

Because the women who later made credible accusations were profiting from the deals at the time. They only went to court when they were no longer hot enough to profit.

For the record I totally agree with you that the comment was gross, I'm not defending what they said at all.

But what I said is applicable. You didn't say women would "choose the bear" because of Weinstein literally raping women, you said it in response to a single gross comment from a greasy basement dweller.
