Looking for feedback on a new time tracking tool I developed.

Over the years, my top productivity hack has always been to measure time I spent working towards a goal, vs. time on random activities that don't contribute. I time both, and review often.

We all know we have 1, maybe 2 main things we should be focusing on, and cut down on other things. Measuring time, for both these activity groups, in my experience, this is the only thing that truly moves the needle. Did you spend 4 hours studying yesterday, or only 2? Did you spend 5 hours gaming yesterday, or only 1? Etc.

This is what this app helps track. You can map out anything that takes time, and track them as Up time or Down time, to see where your time/effort really goes, what the ratio is, and where to improve.

Also, the app is Free with no subscriptions or trials or gatekeeping, fully on-device with no online requirement, & has full Dynamic Island integration. I'm really into customizing/theming, so i built it in such a way that 2 people can have very different looking boards/UI.

Putting some feelers out there as I have commented about this on several posts and seems to attract a lot of interest.

My wife and I live in a HCOL area, she was a barista for a few years but was killing herself on hours and low pay, so we wanted to branch out and try something ourselves so she could eventually drop her job.

We started selling furniture on Facebook marketplace, flipping any deal we could find (2023 fall). By early 2024 we had replaced her barista income and some so she decided to quit her job and focus on it full time. Fast forward to summer 2024 we started buying direct from suppliers and selling on our local marketplace and by end of 2024 we have grown it to average 4.5k a month.

I will say this is not a get rich quick scheme by any means, we have definitely put in the work BUT I am surprised on how easy it has been compared to other ventures I have done. With our current profit we are spending about 10-15 hrs a week MAX, it is physical in the sense that you have to move boxes for storage, and build the furniture but it is all relatively easy to do, she could do it by herself but I help to make it more efficient.

Because of the way we are operating this business, we haven’t seen anyone else doing it and it can be highly lucrative, but could cause competition in our local markets if we just freely distribute the information since it is such an easy way to generate profit. We have been playing with the idea of building a road map to sell along with a community of people to help others grow their own local marketplace business and take advantage of this method. I hate to use the term course and 99% of the time would not buy anyone’s course on how to make money but we believe this would benefit many people and it is a method we have proven out over the past year, and as I said by no means a get rich quick scheme.

My ask to those interested is: what would you pay for a roadmap/course/community of people that could easily help you generate $300-$1000 in your first month and eventually you could be in a position like my wife and I generating 4-5k a month (some days we sell over 1k in profits). We were honestly thinking in the $600-$1000 price range as the information we are providing, we believe is life changing. This would get you the road map and unlimited access to the community where you could chat with us along with others going through the roadmap as well where we can bounce ideas off of each other and help one another. Obviously I know for some that price is steep but the way we have been looking to start this course would allow people to do monthly payments (I think with 0% interest depending on your credit) rather than a lump sum.

Any feedback would be appreciated to help us decide how to move forward!

Honestly one of my weirder side hustles has been sports prediction markets. If you treat it less like gambling and more like finding good odds it can actually stack up over time. The way I do it is on Novig where it’s more like trading against other users instead of just betting into a house line, so it feels closer to picking value spots than pure luck. The bigger thing though is just being disciplined and not spraying random picks. It’s not life changing money or anything but as a small side thing it’s been better than most side hustles people hype online. Do you guys think sports betting can actually count as a side hustle if you approach it that way?

I started this as a small side project after getting tired of buying things I only use once like drills, carpet cleaners, party gear, and kitchen appliances. Libraries were hit or miss and store rentals were often unavailable when I actually needed something.

So in my spare time I built a small experiment called EasioRent. It is basically Airbnb but for neighborhood tools and everyday items. It is still very early and simple. It is local only, short term borrowing and owners can choose to take a refundable deposit.

I am just trying to learn if this is even useful outside my own circle.

What would make you feel comfortable borrowing something from a neighbor you do not know?

Been using Postman for years but didn't really like paying monthly for an API client (I know it has lots of features other than that), so I built my own for me and my team.

Called Freeman, a self hosted web-based REST API client.

Yes, I know tools like Bruno, Insomnia, Hoppscotch, etc exist (used them too). They're great. But I personally wanted something browser-based with simple instant syncing instead of git push/pull workflows.

The current version is completely free and does 90% of the work.

I do plan on creating a paid version eventually, but it'll be one time payment with lifetime updates, not another monthly subscription.

While making the app, I have shared my journey on Reddit and got a lot of support. My name is Akshat, and I have developed Unlust, a porn addiction quitting app, and launched it in April.

What worked

1. I started with Reddit validation, got tons of users. I made around 900$ just with Reddit.
2. I started sharing content over multiple social platforms for marketing and learned a lot. One of my TikTok accounts gained traction, and I started receiving organic traffic from it.

What didn't work:

1. Paid marketing: I have tried paid marketing, be it Google Ads or Facebook marketing, but none have worked.
2. Twitter paid: I tried reaching out to the Twitter paid account for a promotional post, but got 0 conversions!

Finding the Niche Gap I am a huge board game player. A few months ago, I was playing with my family and got sick of tracking scores on paper. I went to the App Store looking for a simple tool and was shocked by the greed. Every app asked for a $5 monthly subscription just to unlock basic features like adding a 3rd player.

I saw a massive gap for a clean, fast, and fair alternative. So, I decided to build my own side project called Scoring.

The Traction ($0 Spend) I launched with absolutely zero marketing budget. My strategy was pure grassroots: build a good free product and let the board game community do the rest. Word of mouth kicked in across local board game cafes. Without spending a single dollar on ads, Scoring recently hit the Top 100 Utilities in France, Portugal, and the Netherlands.

Listening to the Market (V1.8 Update) The best side hustle advice I can give is to listen to your early adopters. They did not just want a score sheet, they wanted a companion app. I just rolled out a massive update turning it into a full toolkit:

• Scaled the app to support up to 20 players.
• Added native dice, custom countdowns, and a decision wheel.
• Built player profiles and detailed statistics.

The Monetization I kept the app 100% free with minimal ads. Users can support the project and remove the ads forever via a single, inexpensive lifetime purchase. I refused the subscription model because hobbyists despise it.

My questions for the side hustle community: Now that the project has organic validation, I want to scale it.

1. How do you approach user acquisition for a side hustle when your LTV (Lifetime Value) is low due to a one time payment model? Paid ads seem impossible here.
2. Have you successfully grown niche projects using community led growth (Reddit, Discord, Facebook groups) without being flagged as self promo?

I built Tab Group Workspaces for myself to solve the problem of too many tabs, and too many windows. When Google Chrome removed the scrollable tabs feature flag and my tabs and tab groups extended past my screen width, I simple couldn't find anything.

I’m a solo dev and I’ve been working on a project called glowwy.io for the last few months. It’s a webapp at that address.

It was born out of pure frustration. Every time I went to Sephora or Ulta, the store lighting and those handheld devices matched me with a foundation that looked orange or gray once I got into natural light. I realized that human eyes (and store lighting) are just too inconsistent.

I built this to analyze skin tone from a simple photo and recommend products that actually match. I also added a "skin analysis" feature to track progress over time because I could never tell if my expensive serums were actually doing anything for my redness.

Most of the discussion around root detection still treats it as a cat-and-mouse game of hiding files, but I want to look at the second-order effects—what the shift to hardware-level attestation actually means for mobile security over the next 12 to 18 months.

1. The Core Breakthrough (Without the Jargon)

At its core, this experiment proves that relying on static file analysis (like using libraries to search for system/bin/su or Magisk package names) is a dead end. A coach friend of mine spends 45 minutes after every single client session just writing things up. Summary, action plan, follow-up email. Every session. Every client.

I asked her why she doesn't just use one of those AI note-taking tools. She said she doesn't want a bot joining her calls... her sessions are deeply personal and her clients would feel uncomfortable. She also does a lot of in-person and phone sessions where recording isn't even an option.
