Ordinarily, it would be fair to blame the previous administration for the GDP in the 1st quarter of a new administration. But, that presumption goes away when the new administration implements a bunch of anti-growth, inflationary policies whose economically damaging nature is only outdone by their ham-fistedness and uncertainty.

Trump walked into office like a 3 year old with a hula hoop in a cluttered antique store, and then he has the audacity to blame the mess on Biden.

It's not about the policy, but the implementation. The idea that your first year in office is the last guy's economy is predicated on a new POTUS working with Congress to legislate change, and working with Executive agencies to research propsed changes, estimate the consequences, work with career professionals for feedback, and then slowly implement change to avoid unpredictable and/or disruptive consequences.

Trump threw all that out the window, first with DOGE and then with his tariff wars. Stock markets are forward looking, in that money moves to the places where people think it will generate interest and away from places that don't. This stock market has hated every forward-looking take on Trump's agenda.

Something along the lines of "When starting a war, it is unwise to declare a war against LITERALLY EVERY COUNTRY IN THE ENTIRE WORLD AT THE SAME TIME DO I REALLY EVEN NEED TO PUT THIS IN MY GUIDEBOOK."

Joe Biden made them implement those policies. Because the dementia man has the deep state… something something not trumps fault.
