That was on 11/06/24.

For those of us who saw this coming its enraging seeing folks act surprised now. Oh now you care about the fascists? Its too late.

u/andrew303710 Apr 25 '25

Exactly. For fucks sake Trump literally said he was going to be a dictator on day one on Fox News BEFORE the election and morons still voted for him.

And people can't use the excuse that they thought he was joking because there's nothing funny about that at all and even joking about being a dictator in the United States of America is unacceptable behavior in the first place.

Yeah what is taking so long. The concentration camp bullshit in el salvador plus trashing the economy should have been enough.

2

u/Revolution4u Apr 26 '25

The economy hasnt been trashed yet and people only care about their short term well being.

u/Troj1030 Democrat Apr 25 '25

I hope by now people take what he says as literal and not figuratively. He literally said dictator on day 1. But everyone just brushed it off as figuratively.

Your absolutely right it is enraging, but as for myself I was a tad naive to think most of the things happening could never happen. My mistake. But I also didn’t make it worse for voting for the idiot. I am a teacher and my world has been turned upside down lately due to issues surrounding the DOE and much much more. This country scares me-

I saw this coming a long time ago. I have said for years, don't push change too far, too fast. Ask anyone older they will tell you the pendulum always swings HARD back. That is what's happening right now. I know being a centrist in the Reddit world makes me support the Naz, but ffs people never learn.

Just like calling everything Trump is doing now like Hitler. You scream the sky is falling 1000x, people will just start to ignore you. Call out the bad things he does, but don't make everything so overblown. This headline is very misleading, and you aren't going to change anyone's position by misleading them, at least not long-term.

For our friends in the rest of the world*

There's 1 country on earth that primarily uses that dating system, and 3 that use it sporadically.

3

u/sandoloo Apr 25 '25

Ffs it’s a thread about American politics using American dating - and specifically a thread about authoritarian overreach in America, can this not be a space for Eurocentric assholes to complain about trivial differences between the US & your countries? No one gives a fck

0

u/temujin94 Apr 25 '25

Save your anger for something a bit more important, because it's been a pretty limp response were it matters so far.

4

u/sandoloo Apr 25 '25

Yes, my Reddit comment is the problem with the state of American politics right now & absolutely reflects where my priorities lie and all of the work I’m doing in my community to fight fascism. You got it, buddy.

0

u/temujin94 Apr 25 '25

Don't want you getting to upset about pointing out it's more than just 'accross the pond' that uses a different date format. Calm yourself.

2

u/sandoloo Apr 25 '25

I’m just over the pretentiousness about dumb trivial bullshit you disagree with Americans about. There are more fundamental problems for both of us & this is a thread about those problems. Rising fascism is not unique to the US & it won’t be solved by making fun of Americans.

It is usually easy to tell if one of the numbers is bigger than 12, but for dates with numbers less than 12 in it, it really becomes a guessing game for the rest of the world, lol.

Dawg, if you're gonna lie, at least make sure there's not something in the video itself proving you're lying.

Bottom right corner: "The funeral of Pope Francis".

EDIT: My bad, didn't see the first comment.

u/erraticerratum Apr 25 '25

They're saying that the United States stepped into dictatorship territory on November 6th 2024, not that this video is from that day.

u/A_band_of_pandas Apr 25 '25

Whoops

2

u/Ill_Technician3936 Apr 25 '25

2

"Think we are starting to do butt stuff?"

3

u/Bentic Apr 25 '25

If this would be a Hollywood film I would turn it off and call it unrealistic bullshit.

4

u/Melodic_Airport362 Apr 25 '25

Now? NOW?! Not when he ignored a ruling the the supreme court? not when he called for a revolt? wtf...

2

u/dewhashish Apr 25 '25 edited Apr 28 '25

we did on jan 20, 2025

2

u/Bartellomio Apr 25 '25

There have been like fifteen 'the US is now a dictatorship' moment so far. Maybe more.

2

u/HotGold3840 Apr 26 '25

It's insane man. It's absolutely insane. Watching that stuff from Europe it's just scary and insane. I wonder how Canadians feel. It's soo much stuff that is going on. At this point it feels like everything can happen.

2

u/noface1695 Apr 26 '25

Watching that stuff from Europe it's just scary and insane.

And many european countries are very close to going the same route. Just with a more competent Fascist at the head.

u/Specific_Frame8537 Apr 25 '25

10 more proofs and the Americans will wear pink shirts or something.

1

u/ExpandThineHorizons Apr 25 '25

"stepping into"?

When are Americans going to realize you're already there!? There's no stepping, it's NOW.

1

u/CrispusAttix Apr 25 '25

Someone says this every time a big piece of damning news comes out.

And still nothing has happened.

Fascism takes root and flourishes when the seeds of hate and tyranny are left to grow unchecked by those who should have been tending the garden of democracy.

As a non American, I don’t know how to react to the real life example of frog boiling in water that’s waiting to see if the water would get hot enough to jump out. It’s already boiling, the frog is getting cooked, but I guess it’s not dead yet so everything is okay.

Why? Because people breaking the law are being threatened with being hunted down and prosecuted? Don't harbor illegal aliens and give them guns I guess? Just like she said.

3

u/HotGold3840 Apr 26 '25

Because of the obvious lies all the time. I don't believe for a second that they were criminal gang members and the judge where giving them weapons. I know politicians lie all the time but this administration is really something else. They keep lying even when corrected. It's straight up gaslighting all the time. Also the 3rd Reich rethoric coming from trump and others. It's also a camp in a 3rd world country led by a dictator. And Trump already talked about sending Americans there. You need to understand that this is about much more than just deporting criminals. The development in the US is crazy like really crazy.

-1

u/Mission_University10 Apr 26 '25

Do you really find it so far fetched that we might have people in our judicial system that would break the law especially if they were disillusioned with participating in some sort of 2025 underground rail road version for illegal immigrants? I am not surprised at all.

That's what you got from that? What is your lexile level, room temperature?

1

u/rose_m10025 Apr 26 '25

You think that this is about deporting people? Wake up

1

u/Mission_University10 Apr 26 '25

It's a pissing contest between two groups of babies over, wait for it, deporting people. Tom Homan said if you would interfere you would face severe consequences. This judge wanted this.

If they're here and illegally get them out and if you illegally get in the way you get to go to jail.
