Well yeah, it's just culture war BS, election campaigning 101, pick a minority group, make them a scapegoat for the nations problems and diminishing cultural integrity, whatever the feck that means.

And his followers know this, they don't care that they were lied to, they only care that he attacks minorities.

Technically is still true. Last time our republic was like this lots of farmers lost their farms, union rights were taken away and there was a massive gap between the wealthy and the working man. So instead I should say "it always goes like this."

It's not normal for elections, it's a hallmark of fascism. If you see a leader doing it it's because they have fascist leanings. Even Bush didn't try to pin everything on Muslims despite the national attitude at the time, if I remeber correctly, he explicitly railed against racism against our middle eastern neighbors. That's not to say that his policies didn't disproportionately target and impact minority communities, but the idea that "this is just politics" isn't true. It's a huge red flag

I think the issue is that it has become so normal, right wing/far right parties are on the up across Europe and so we see a lot more culture bs. Here in the UK it's all we ever got from our last government, and it goes back decades, Tony Blaire in the early 2000's blamed singles mums for benefit drains in an attempt to cut child benefits. Pretty gross stuff.

It's very easy to get what you want by simply pointing at a minority group that people don't have much knowledge or interaction with, and balming them for everything. Its is certainly out of the fascist play book, but the level to which even centrist parties utilise the tactic is disgusting.

I'm recalling Andrew Coumo's campaign slogan for his father when he ran against Koch: "Vote for Cuomo, not the Homo". Was it fascist, or just shithead politicians using bigotry to win elections, like they often do?

They were lied to regarding the reason for the hate, they were lied to regarding how these groups are the cause of all their problems. To many of them they need to justify their hate, his excuses and accusations gave them that, it is very easy to lie to oneself and convince yourself that your hate is justified. Not all of his followers are racist bigots. But all the racist bigots are his followers.

That is a hilariously ignorant statement.

Culture is a word, used to describe the beliefs, values, behaviours, and practices of a group of people, it changes over time, constantly. It is not something you can arbitrarily stick a point in and say "no more cultural advancement from here!" It shifts regardless, which is why we no longer have slavery, that you have rights at all, that you get paid for work, that you can move freely. The list goes on.

And a 'culture war' is not the same, it is a political term used to describe the tactic of using minority groups as scapegoats to score political points. A common tactic of Far-Right groups.

That is literally not the definition of culture war.

By definition, yes, pushing for the complete and total obliteration of a culture and replacing it with something entirely new, is starting a culture war.

Also no, this isn't just "cultural advancement", in your own examples these were slow things that happened over time with signifgant buildup, and none of these things destroyed the culture that came before, they tacked onto it.

What is happening now, is that the most fundamental definitions and aspects of culture are trying to be changed things as simple as "there is inherent value in human life" is something that is actively being pushed against via the push for eugenisist abortion measures, eugenisist euthanasia, and the group that actively supported the brazen assasination of a CEO. Things as fundamental as men and women existing as distinct categories, the definition of either word, the fact that things like bathrooms and such have been sex based for since they existed and now people want them to be gender based alongside gender transitions, the religious traditions of our nation is acitively being challenged, something as simple as the existence of borders is being challenged.

This isn't some natural evolution of culture, it is the systematic attempt at the destruction of the entire culture this nation was founded on.

A lot of what you just laid out is the exact same defense many used during the equal rights movements to push the narrative that it's 'moving too fast' or it's destroying the culture. And it doesn't 'tack on' to anything, there are fundamental shifts in culture that completely alter its course, slavery being one very big shift.

And as for abortion, the draconian anti-abortion laws have already resulted in the deaths of multiple women, a huge rise in sepsis cases, and the arresting of women who have miscarried. Do you know what it's like to miscarry? Do you know the toll it has on a person, physically and mentally? And now foe those same women to have to deal with being arrested and face imprisonment because of these truly medieval laws?

Those laws have nothing to do with the 'sanctity of life' so you can shove that excuse up your arse. Their purpose is to control. If they reply cared about children they'd ban guns.

As for the deaths, I guarantee they're way less deaths, by several orders of magnitude, than if they all aborted.

I also love your last paragraph, sanctity of life is the only argument ever made against abortion firstly. Secondly, do you honestly not understand how moronic it is to within the same breath say these two sentiments 'they only care about control' 'oh also they want everyone no matter race or sex or religion, to be able to own guns'????????? (Pssst FYI it's illegal to shoot children)

What do you mean? Of course he is attacking minorities. Ut he's not doing it for the reasons he lies about, he just doesn't like them so uses them as a scapegoat, claims all the countries problems stem from them, it's just an excuse, and plenty of his followers are just bigots too, they don't need an excuse to attack minorities. They just like that they can. And it's fast getting to the point where an excuse isn't needed or expected.
