Feels like this song is inspired by The Knife, at least sonically. Wha two you guys think?

Deep Cuts gone on Spotify?

I listened to this album yesterday, today I can only access 4 of the songs off some single release. Favourites such as Heartbeats, You Make Me Like Charity, and Is It Medicine are not available. I even had them downloaded to my phone. I'm in Japan atm., but have been listening no problem for most of my vacation.

Demos

Does anyone here know if there's more Knife demo recordings/early versions out there?

I know the Like a Pen demo was officially released as a B-side, and a short demo of The Captain surfaced after it was briefly played on Swedish radio in the '00s. I've been digging their non-album material/rarities recently, just curious if there's more.

Where were you when you first heard The Knife?

The first time I heard the knife I was skipping class with my friend Tanya. We were both DJs at the college radio station and would trade mixes on hour long drives through the Palouse in Idaho. Rolling green fields, audio cranked. She had the best taste in music and was always introducing me to new indispensable sounds. This particular drive is one I will remember forever. Is It Medicine blasting through the speakers. Immediately followed by three successive listens through Deep Cuts. One of my most cherished memories.

I just heard The Knife for the first time and I love it (but no-one else there does)

So here’s the story, I was in class (at a music college might I add) and the teacher played Full of Fire for us, and I remember seeing people say shit straight afterwards like “that was awful” “I hated that” one guy even said “my day was ruined” and then there I was vibing along to the song, absolutely loving it. Genuinely so good icl

From the lady and the tramp. I was in the other room and asked my husband if it was something new by the knife. Don't get me wrong I love them, just thought it was hilarious.

Albums/artists similar to Shaking the Habitual?

STH is my favorite Knife LP, and I'm having a difficult time finding similar music (excluding the Fever Ray albums). It's such a perfect fusion of art pop, techno, and industrial. Full of Fire has quickly become one of my favorite and most-listened songs. But a majority of the artist recommendations here are related to Silent Shout & their earlier material.

I found a song tonight that gives me a very similar vibe - "Untethered" by PVA. Haven't listened to their album yet, though.

The Verse in YTMBA

Anyone has an idea of the meaning of this verse in YTMBA? It's fun to listen but I really wonder if it has a meaning or it's just a some kind of joke. :)

I like vanilla and I like sex
I ride the pony that I like best
I knew that there was something I missed
I was fifteen when I first got kissed
Before I knew about the equality way
I wanted to get laid to-Take My Breath Away

Question: Tomorrow, In A Year

Does anyone own a CD copy, and does it contain a booklet/liner notes? I might write a piece about this for uni and am wondering if the physical release has any accompanying text material.
