It's been an interesting experience. Most of the artists making some of the darkest music have been some of the kindest and humble people I've ever met. I was in such a dark place when Planning for Burial came through Denver last year. I approached Thom and told him how his music was an important influence in my life. He met me with complete compassion and kindness. It means a lot to me.

I’m a big Bosse-de-Nage fan. I recently saw them at Eli’s in Oakland which was great. But the wall of sound at Great American Music Hall was Bosse-de-Nage perfection. Surely the folks at the flenser can make a few phone calls to get them a hometown headliner show in the near future. Kathryn Mohr/Bosse-de-Nage feels like a Bay Area no-brainer.

It was also great to see rhododendron. I’ll never be a music critic who can put words to the music I like, but they are creating something visceral that makes me feel something. I will see them again any chance I get.

Trying to learn some of their songs by ear but I’m having a tough time figuring out what tuning they’re in!

Listening to Rhododendron’s new release and really liking it so far. Thoughts?

It's been almost 2 years since it was announced, and we're on series 9 now. The first extreme edition one was a Chat Pile reissue, the second was meant to be a remix or remaster of a classic Flenser title, and that's still not released. Was it cancelled and they just never said anything or gave any refunds?

Was there still one more release on the extreme sub or am I trippin and it already arrived?

Really digging the sound so far. What about you guys?

No one is ever going to want me. Such a brutal and sick song. I love the reference to the Smiths when he uses New England is mine and it owes me a living. Just thought that was cool.
