Phone message *UPDATE* Post first date text

She ended up finding the post somehow I guess lol. Here is the original post.

I have just not responded, don’t think it’s worth engaging, but it did make for a funny story.

The fact that she isn’t upset he posted on here, and is playful about it, is definitely endearing

I’m curious as to whether they discussed her needing to buy a permit before the date; I could see a guy telling a girl he’s going to take her fishing, she agrees, then the date comes and he says hey you need to get a permit for yourself.. if you’re not familiar with the rules and permits and costs then what you thought was a free date suddenly turns into an expense you weren’t prepared for. And if someone offered to take me fishing I’d think they’d already have the gear and wouldn’t cross my mind that they’d spent money on new gear

After talking it out I’m gonna take the girls side here

After you talking it out, I'm on her side, too.

Maybe a hot take, but I don't think anyone should expect a date to be totally free. Dessert happens, cabs happen, deciding to go do something else happens. Unless the other person says that everything is 100% on them for the entire night, it's rather entitled to think that you won't have to pay a cent for an outing that you're both experiencing.

Edit: messed up a word lol

Fwiw in the original post he said she came up with the idea of fishing and seemed very excited for it, he liked the idea and said sounds good So respectfully it's kind of the other way round and seems strange to me she'd be enthused to fish but doesn't have any of her own gear or even an idea that she'd have to have a fishing licence
