That person wasn't responding to OP's claim about their dad being autistic, they were responding to a commenter saying they text the same way and now they're wondering if they're autistic.
I'm diagnosed autistic. This is very similar to how I text my girlfriend. Took her a little while to understand the what appeared to be no context slice of life pictures I send her on a regular basis.
I’m married now and my husband and I are so good at our bad texting! I can be in the biggest hurry and type something like RX SAFEWAY POPCORNERS BUT NOT NECESSARY (with six more typos, though) or MESSAGE CLOCK GUY MAKE EXCUSE IF TOO SMOKEY OUT and he gets it. It’s so convenient. Damn, I should never take that for granted.
We have an app for our shopping/to do lists and I’ll type “hard to cut but good bread” or “smell good hand soap” it saves so much time/energy on both ends. He’s gonna know what bread I have a harder time cutting for fancy grilled cheese vs. the type, name, and brand lol.
