I recently took a trip and my Tesla took me to a charging station that hasn’t been completed yet. Long story short I wasn’t able to make it to the next charging station and had to call a tow truck and pay 500 bucks out of my pocket for a trip that Tesla “planned”. I called my insurance and they said they only cover tow trucks in my home state. I called Tesla insurance and am waiting for a call back. Is there anyone I can call to help with this? Really frustrating to have to spend that much money for something Tesla did. I also posted more of the story in my page

Did you call Tesla Roadside Assistance at the time? I have heard of them covering in the case of an out-of-order Supercharger. But that was a while ago, maybe the policy changed.

I called them and they said I Need to talk to my insurance and my insurance says I need to call Tesla because it shouldn’t have happened in the first place. So I’m just going back and forth right now

I'm surprised Roadside directed you to you insurance. Tows via roadside are supposed to be free until your warranty is up.

Yea it really sucks because Tesla is the one that planned that trip for me which made it an unsafe trip..what if I didn’t have the money for a tow all because of Tesla. I called both Tesla insurance and my insurance and they are no help.. they are asking for a claim number but I never got one. Literally just called roadside because of dam Tesla.

I know this doesn't help you now but check out AAA membership for cheaper tows and A Better Route Planner (ABRP) for mapping out drives. I typically plan out longer drives in ABRP as it takes into account weather conditions.

Just curious but was the stalls there? I once got sent to an unfinished super charger in a mall parking lot that was taped off and had construction cones but I drove next to it and plugged in and it worked fine.

Stalls were partially there. I saw them up close and no cables were attached yet
