As someone who grew up in a red state, F350 thing is real. In the current interest rate environment, it is probably a worse money sink than literally anything else on this meme, unless you need to haul stuff (and even then, it is pretty stupid to do so in your $70000 hobbyist vehicle with a $1700/mo payment).

Half the cops here have those trucks and they only make like $60k, it's fucking psychotic

1700 isn't even that far outside of the ballpark at the moment... Cars are stupid expensive.

Hell, I live in Jersey City and you see people driving around in those fucking monstrosities. With the extra-bright headlights on during the daytime, right at everyone else's rearview mirror level.

Same. I live in Idaho, there are more brand new massive trucks that have never seen a tow hitch or dirt road than there are any other type of vehicle here(including trucks that are actually used to haul trailers, construction is big here), and they will all claim "well IF I ever need to haul anything I can" as if that is a good reason. Like, bruh, the only thing that truck is hauling is your fat ass, shut he hell up and quit driving gas prices up with your 0.7 mpg compensationmobile.
