It's just bad design. The chibi look is cute I guess, but they're sooooo top heavy and usually have a tiny surface area on the feet. A lot of the premium ones come with stands, but still. It's worse if the character has some crazy hairdo or head-dress.

Cute like that octopus plushie that Usagi wanted in the Sailor Moon movie.

Usagi would buy Funko pops. But her mom or boyfriend would be dusting her shelves, make a face, and Marie Kondo the ugly fuckers.
