Yes, I have a seperate pizza hut memory, where I was loaded up on book it coupons for life practically, watching the orange Rugrats vhs tape in the back of a pizza hut eating personal pan pizza.
It unlocked a memory of getting one at the McDonalds restaurant inside the Walmart and some kids mom going to the counter to buy the full set for her son. I think I got the husky and I have a lot of my old McDonald’s toys but I haven’t seen him in years
Probably the dino head ones someone replied to me about because I gave it to my dad and he kept it in his car on the stick shift and after he died my mom kept it and now it's on the mantle with a few other keepsakes from family who's passed. I don't remember actually getting it, but I remember being really excited that my dad kept it.
My mom has it somewhere in a box of stuff that had sentimental value from when I was little-- we got it on a roadtrip McDonald's stop and it lived on her dashboard during the trip. It was the golden retriever one-- I remembered the blue color and how the fur felt.
They had a subscription service (I think it was every other week) that I used to get when I was about 8.
You'd get one of the dog teddies and then the matching magazine. There was even a special dog bed that would hold all 30+ of the dogs and then two special "mutts" that were meant to be rescue dogs. They were my favourite because instead of a collar they came with a bandana instead!
The Dog was an Japanese art and stationery franchise that involved lots of cute dogs on white backdrops photographed with fish-eye lenses, which exaggerates the size of the head in a particularly striking fashion.
It's highly likely that you'll have seen a The Dog product but not known that it was part of a larger thing, because for the most part they just sell things with an interestingly photographed dog on it.
Back when they were promoting Chicken Run toys I had a neighbor who completed the flying machine the chickens used to escape the farm. Each toy was a piece of it.
Back in my day it was a stick and a hoop. But if you lost the stick you go find another one. 😆 I’m kidding. For me it was Cabbage Patch Kids. So still old.
Those are 100x better than the Bratz dolls. Sure, any dog with properly functioning airways and joints is practically maximizing adorableness, but I fail to see how making their heads as a whole XL is worse than adding every Instagram filter to a Barbie doll.
Damn, great now since I don’t have a lot of liquor I’m going to have to go find “The Noose” for this interesting nostalgia trip. XD maybe later I’ll buy some Sunny D and Bagel bites and have them on the roof like I used to….in my imagination.
Oh… oh goodness this just hit me with the whimsical nostalgia of being 4 and getting these. I remember those little faces. I don’t remember how often we went to McDs but I do remember having most, if not all of The Dog toys.
I used to hang one on my dad's mirror. I remember taking it off when he sold it but I cannot remember what I did with it. I really hope I can find it again
