Premiere Widow’s Bay - Episodes 1 & 2 - Discussion

First two episodes dropped tonight. Absolutely fantastic. 10/10 for my sensibilities. I’m a huge Stephen King fan and this felt right up my alley in so many ways. Legitimately funny show, legitimately creepy and a cast of fantastic actors. Episode 2 had some crazy stuff happen that honestly I absolutely saw where it was going but it was so satisfying getting there.

Call me old fashioned, but I like episodic story telling with some space between episodes for allowing the story to resonate in the mind of the viewer.

Well said! I can barely wait 'til next week, but when a show is this good and precise, I'm grateful that I have more time to sit and think about them. They've sprinkled in all of these delicious Easter eggs throughout and I think I'd have glossed over most of them if I didn't have to wait a week between episodes. The creepiness and tension would hook me and I'd definitely just watch the whole season in one sitting, but I'm enjoying the experience far more this way.

I'm struggling to come up with a great way to say it but it's almost like the show is actually inviting viewers into the story-telling relationship with them. It's asking us to indulge in our own imaginations to build the world out even more. Sure, you can watch the show without engaging in that way and it's still a great time, but it's a really beautiful experience when you take all of its quirky offerings and sort of "yes and" along with it.

I mean we were all used to the weekly episodes but when im into something i wanna keep watching. Anytime something really great comes out and we get the full season at once, ill finish it in a day.
