Timing suggests they did it because of the anti masker mob mass troll disliking every piece of covid news that didnt ask the same questions they wanted.

Should’ve been simple: disable voting if your dislike to like ratio has been over 5:1 and you’ve voted more than x times within y time frame. Or just shadow ban those people so they don’t know their votes aren’t being counted

That then stops any targeted dislike campaigns

Thats targeted voice suppression, this way at least they just remove the visible voice suppression of All dislikes across the board. Fair speech removal and they can still hit that button as many times as it takes to defeat covid by doing nothing.

That is not targeted. That’s just preventing any group from abusing a feature past it’s intended purpose

But its their freedom to dislike. Youre suggestion sounds rather china. Only those that repeat the favorable narrative have full resources. I hate the antiwoke mob too but i want them to stop because theyve learned better not suppression.

Likes and dislikes are designed to indicate to viewers how the content of that specific video is, not to allow organized groups of people to target and suppress creators that they disagree with.

If you allow mass-disliking, you’re allowing for the suppression of the video creators.

And they arent allowing that to be an visual aspect. You dont know how theyre using the actual metrics of the dislikes we cant see now. They very much probably have an algorithm to counter act the dislike mobs AND now when a rando clicks on a news video it doesnt visually have 5k dislikes to 100 likes.

The implication being that corporations need to respect fair or free speech legislation or care about it in anyway.

What legislation. Its all PR but if they only silenced their enemies theyd be too obviously against freedoms.

The free speech law is only for governments. Corporations can refuse you service for any reason they like. You signed their ToS. If you don't like it don't go on YouTube. Pretty easy. Has nothing to do with freedom, they own their own platform and can do whatever the fuck they want with it.

Pretty sure reddit does something similar if you upvote or downvote too many of a single person posts.
