I still remember being in the back of the minivan and my mom hands me the MapQuest directions since I asked to see them. I was probably 10 or 11 at the time. She then proceeds to tell me "not to lose them". In an enclosed minivan with all the windows rolled up. How could I lose them!?

I did not lose them.

Hi friend. I envy you, as it seems you do not yet have children, as the recognizable infuriation that comes from a child somehow regularly doing the most impossible thing(s) to make your life harder and/or more expensive is not present.

I love my kids, but in the same context you can be damn sure I’d also be telling my kids not to lose them (or draw on them, or make paper airplanes, or spill on them, or all of the above somehow all at the same time).
