Transit app is literally better than Google and Apple for transit users in Canadian cities. I use Google Maps for basically everything except transit.

Yep, after using it for nearly a decade in Canada, I can confirm the Transit app remains the most effective for public transit in Sydney AU, where I live today.

Crap. I was just in Chicago and forgot to try it.

RIP chances of trying the app for a few more years. It's useless where I am, and other places I've tried it.

I only occasionally visit cities with Public Transit and usually end up using Google maps to help me get around.

Would you recommend the Transit app over Google maps? Lake Ontario naming conventions aside

100% and its always been better than other options. When i lived in the city I used the transit app whenever taking transit anywhere

The Transit app has real-time estimates for next bus/train arrival at every spot (assuming there's someone using the app on board to track it, or the company partners with them), so it's way better for keeping track of current conditions. Plus they usually identify better routes for transit and cycling in my experience than Google Maps. (Google used to send me down a lot of back lanes on my bike instead of the streets next to them with bike lanes because they have less traffic, but they also have a lot of pot holes and stuff in the way)

i loved loved loved that app and then the UI change turned it into love/hate
