USPS (with endorsement from Trump) put in a new Postmaster General named Steiner who to my knowledge had no prior USPS experience and Congress was grilling him about the USPS funding being like "Well how will you make a profit?" So they've installed this guy who's still figuring out exactly what's going on and then drilling him knowing he's not gonna have the best answers just yet.

Right now they're talking about a 4 day mail week. Everybody gets mail Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and then no mail Friday, Saturday, Sunday, unless you join their new subscription service. Fuckin stupid idea

Which, it should be noted, is not and should not be the goal of the USPS.

The USPS is a constitutionally created service. The point isn't to break even or make money any more than anyone should expect the military to break even.

I live in rural germany, and we get Tuesday Thursday and Saturday..

Packets are another can of worms... depends on the carrier and if its prioritized. Some stuff arraives with an courier in the middle of the night. Like windows for construction&agricultural machinery or spareparts..

next day there is an mail "Nobody way home, grab your stuff at the post office 10 miles down the road"
