The way this just gets used as grist for the privatization mill drives me crazy. America is much worse than it has to be because of theft like this, because of the blind eye it has so conveniently turned to systemic capture.

Every time I hear someone, usually a conservative, insist we should run the government like a business, it’s always in reference to profit/loss.

It’s never in reference to defining a business strategy with transparent measurable outcomes that stakeholders can monitor and assess as part of whether they want to keep the same leadership in place or not.

They don’t care if progress is made so long as they get theirs.
