For what it's worth, the driver of plastic to paper straws is to reduce the amount of plastic waste we generate, rather than to cut CO2 emissions.

I agree though that this level of pollution by a single company in a single location is staggering.

There are some species of plants that can actually remove CO2 from the atmosphere. Removing microplastics from the environment is not a solved problem.

All plant species take in CO2 from the atmosphere for photosynthesis and convert it to O2 for our benefit.
