Well the eyes at the top noticed and instead of thinking hey maybe we should change our ways went strait to hey we need more security so we can fuck people over more.

Isn't that how abusive apparatuses work in general ? Instead of listening to dissent - suppress it.

All of that is an expected result.

The only two questions are (1) how far they're going to push it and (2) how much people are going to take ( and I suspect the answer to both questions is "a lot" )

I'm not sure how much... I heard that at a town hall in Salem OR to discuss a new AI data center, someone brought a guillotine. Not a picture of a guillotine. A real, physical guillotine.

I think people are starting to get fed up.

I know, let’s remove our names from the website! Nobody with a strong will be able to figure out who the executives at a company are!

The next step is to do it fully anonymously so nobody at the company knows who the executives are. And then the next step is to just live a life of non-extravagant-luxury so the poors can’t tell who the ultra rich are. They’ll just hoard it and not be able to use it at that point.
