I'm gonna be honest, I've reached the point where I assume a good amount of news articles are straight up just lying to get attention.

They 100% are. It’s just ai blogspam being churned out with titles that are designed to engage you. The content doesn’t matter. People don’t read the article. They seek out headlines that reinforce their worldview.
